2024

A new year is just around the corner. I have not set resolutions in the past. Why is this? I suppose because they start off with the best intentions and then I hit the derailing bump. Earlier this year, I was talking with a friend about reactive living versus proactive living. They of course challenged by thought, one of the things I have loved most about them, and questioned whether it was really possible or if some decisions were already determined. I think this comes from the work of Robert Sapolsky but honestly, I’d have to do a little digging unless you already know and would like to share.
But with 2024 sending out the invites and opening the doors to a new year, we all have the invite to a new you. I will be honest, I am not interested in a “new” me, I am just interested in me. All these years of motherhood I haven’t really stopped to plot out the next year or the next five or even 15 years. And that friend with the Robert Sapolsky quotes, had asked me many times, “where do you see yourself in 15 years?” Where do I see myself in 15 years? I am not sure I have ever stopped to really ask this question but 2024 is the year I start finding some answers. What about you? Where do you see yourself in 1 year, or five years and if you dare, where do you see yourself in 15 years?
