Click List

Who hasn't stood staring in the refrigerator feeling a sense of complete dread when you realize you need to make a grocery run? Especially on a Thursday evening because you know that Friday at Costco is a nightmare and it doesn't open until 10, which means you drop one kid off at school, go to the gym, rush to the store and then home to get it put away and then it's time for the baby to take a nap but it is also time to pick up the older child. So, you shove a handful of almonds into your mouth and stick another handful in a container for the drive. Power nurse the baby and pray he naps on the way to pick up.

What if you could just have the groceries delivered? That would be awesome!!! except, then you'd have to be home, waiting...which could be worse than waiting for the cable guy. What if you could just pick a time, say an hour block and all you have to do is park, make a phone call and then let someone else load up our groceries? Hez ya!!!

Fred Meyer Click List is my new sanity saver. A bonus is saving money by not impulse shopping or buying "pacifier" presents for kids when they finally wear you down. What's the catch? I am not sure. I think they really encourage the purchasing of Kroger brand products as some of the brands you are most familiar with might not be available. It seems every time I try to order Eberhard Heavy Whipping Cream it is unavailable, so I spend a little more and end up with another completely acceptable brand. Fred Meyer doesn't carry all the brands I have grown to love at Whole Foods but they do carry a large variety of organic produce AND I am saving $100 dollars a month by shopping at Fred Meyer.

The first three times I used Click List my service fee of $4.95 was waved. What!?! for less than $5 I can have a personal shopper!!! No service fee the first three times but I did take the short survey I was emailed after each of those shopping trips and scored 150 bonus fuel points. Is $5 worth it? Your groceries are picked out for you, bagged up, stored, brought to you, loaded into your car. They even take your coupons off automatically. They also take regular coupons...woohoo!!! If you are good at planning your shopping list, you could potentially avoid store trips for things like tampons, laundry detergent, and even wine. That's right, I searched for almost everything I could think of and yes, they'll round it up for you.

In my effort to rein in the chaos in my life, I am loving this service.

What are your time saving short cuts?
